This Charter outlines the commitment of Ian Whitcombe Comedy (hereafter “the Company”) to safeguard the acts, performers, and stakeholders involved in our comedy events. The Charter reflects our dedication to creating a respectful, inclusive, and positive environment for all parties involved in our comedic endeavours.

The Company is committed to promoting a culture of respect and inclusion. We value and celebrate diversity among our acts and audiences, and expect all stakeholders to contribute to an environment free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying. Offensive or discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated.

Intellectual Property

The Company respects the intellectual property of all performers and acts. Any unauthorised use, including copying, distribution, or alteration of the acts without the explicit consent of the owner, is strictly prohibited. The Company will take appropriate action in instances of intellectual property infringement.

Health and Safety

The Company prioritises the health and safety of all performers, staff, and audience members at our events. We comply with all relevant legislation and regulations and continually strive to maintain the highest standards in all our operations.

Ethical Conduct

The Company is dedicated to maintaining ethical practices in all aspects of our operations. We commit to transparency in our processes, fair treatment of all parties, and adherence to industry standards.

Personal Safety and Secure Transits

The Company is committed to ensuring the personal safety and security of all acts / performers. This includes, when necessary and requested, arranging and providing assistance to accompany them to and from their vehicles or public transportation hubs such as train stations, bus terminals, etc. Our aim is to minimise the potential for any harm or undue stress and provide a safe journey before and after the events. This is to ensure their safety, particularly during late hours, and in areas where there may be a heightened risk of harm

Security Measures

The Company will ensure that appropriate security measures are in place at our events, such as surveillance systems, security personnel, and emergency procedures, to provide a secure environment for all stakeholders.

Feedback and Improvement

The Company encourages feedback from all acts, performers, and stakeholders on the efficacy of our safeguarding measures, including escorting services. This feedback will be used to continually improve our practices and ensure the highest level of safety and comfort for all stakeholders.

Confidentiality and Privacy

The Company respects the privacy of all acts, performers, and stakeholders. Any personal information shared with the Company regarding safety concerns, including home or hotel addresses, vehicle details, and travel schedules, will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and used solely for the purpose of ensuring their safety.

Talent Development and Fair Treatment

The Company is committed to nurturing comedic talent and ensuring fair treatment. We provide equal opportunities for all performers and support their professional development. We also aim to negotiate contracts and agreements that are fair, transparent, and mutually beneficial.

Payment

All acts hired by the Company will be paid. No act shall perform without compensation and the agreed fee will be paid, where practicable to do so, on the night of the performance. The only exception to this rule will be “gong show” competitions, where only the winner will receive payment.

Compliance with Laws and Regulations

The Company operates within the framework of all relevant local, national, and international laws and regulations, including those related to employment, health and safety, data protection, and privacy.

Reporting and Accountability

The Company encourages all stakeholders to report any perceived violation of this Charter in a confidential manner. We commit to investigate all reports thoroughly and take appropriate action.
