Duncan Oakley (Headliner)

Comedian, Songwriter, Musician, Actor, One man band!

With musical skills that would easily fit into many rock bands Duncan Oakley performs an infectious mix of musical comedy and stand up with one of his trusty guitars – Maurice (Fender Strat), No.7 (acoustic) or his Les Paul (the Lezza) by his side.

With an eye and ear for the silly, rude, playful and downright irritating occurrences of life Duncan musters up songs that not only make you laugh, they bury into the recesses of your mind and find you a humming tune with a smile on your face three days later, confused and wondering where it’s come from.

Jules O’Brian (Headliner)

Jules O’Brian first took to the stage in 2017, at The Comedy Loft, in Birmingham, as part of a night for charity. A keen fan of Rik Mayall, French and Saunders, Victoria Wood, and Joan Rivers, as well as Katherine Ryan, Tim Minchin, Amy Schumer, and the Brum-based Luisa Omielan, Jules states her stand-up style is “Butter wouldn’t melt meets Is That All There Is?” (a reference to the dark song made famous by singer Peggy Lee).

An English Tutor, Jules currently lives in Tamworth, Staffordshire, and performed a sell-out ‘triple-header’ with pals Tal Davis and Hannah Weetman during 2021’s Birmingham Comedy Festival.

Jules O’Brian was shortlisted for Funny Women 2021, and performs at venues and festivals around the country, telling anyone who will listen about ageing disgracefully, body hang-ups, parenting, and dating. She is TalkTalk’s official voice – chosen by none other than the legend Bernard Cribbins – and her silly writings feature frequently in magazines including Prima and MamaLife. This former teacher’s relaxed and chatty style, crowd interaction and warmth, all served with a sardonic wit, make her a natural crowd pleaser.

Sonja Reddy

Sonja Reddy is a relatively new comedian having performed her first gig in June 2023, helping to raise nearly £5,000 for Cancer Research in the process.

Since then Sonja has gone from strength to strength, performing in various towns and cities, including Nottingham, Derby, Long Eaton and Coventry.

Sonja’s comedy is based around her own life experiences and her very varied job roles, where she manages to combine the discipline of working for a supermarket with the discipline of being a dominatrix !

“Sonja has good, well written material which she delivers with a strong, confident on stage persona.” – Ian Whitcombe

Vix Jayne Leyton

Discovered by Mark Watson on Twitter in 2019, Welsh comic exiled to London, Vix Leyton is a natural storyteller with a keen eye for observation, combining warm, whimsical charm. A Funny Women awards semi finalist 3 years in a row and named as ‘One to watch’

Mel Judson

Mel Judson is the ‘Funny, Frank and Fabulous’ Bradford based comedian and proudly cynical misanthropist. She is quickly making her name on the comedy circuit with her dry and deadpan style as she shocks and delights audiences with her true to life stories and reflections. As well as providing tour support, Mel is also working on her own hour show ‘Spoilt’ debuting in Autumn 2023.

‘Surprising, funny and just delightful’ – Daliso Chaponda

Ben Owen

Ben Owen grew up with dreams of stand up comedy fame and no access to a local comedy circuit, so from the age of 20, he’s been performing hour-long gigs all by himself before making a splash (though it’s currently more of a small ripple) in the comedy scene.

His inoffensive but humorous style of observing every day life has led him to his first review “my mum’s new favourite comedian” – one day, he’ll break free of all the mums, for now, he’s just happy someone’s laughing.

Please be advised that our comedy line-ups are subject to change. Roland Gent - Embarrassing Dad

Roland Gent – Embarrassing Dad

Embarrassing Dad has already played at Holly Bush Festival, Rhyl, Festival and Didsbury Festival Manchester, going to Brighton Fringe.

Runner up prize as best hour long show at Holly Bush Birmingham.

“They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.”

Yes that well known poem by Josef Fritzel Philip Larkin, is the basis for my show

Interestingly enough Philp Larkin’s own dad was actually a British Nazi, who took his own son to the Nurenberg Rallies, it must have made “First day back at school” a bit interesting when the teacher said “ and what did we all do for the summer holidays?

It’s one hour of stand up, that reflects back on every mum and dad, a series of dilemmas on being a parent.

How do you be a good parent? and what would you do to get our kids into the best school? And what class are you middle class? Lower middle class? Upper Class?

Would you change religion?

Would you move house?

Or just send them to Bash Street Comprehensive?

Or sell out and join the Elite.? 60 % of the cabinet went to private school, look at Boris Johnson a man who became the Prime Minister only got where he is cos he went to Eton. David Cameron Fucked a dead pig and got to be Prime Minister. I shag one sheep.. And I get a criminal record where’s the justice?

What’s the best name to give your kid? What’s the worst name?

Can you be a cool Dad? Or are you doomed to be an embarrassment to your kids?

Should you try to pass your tastes on to your kids?

Is there simply no way out?

Maybe its best not to grow up and keep drinking cider at the bus stop.

What if your daughter had a tremendous talent? What if she just had the chance to do something amazing, should you be a pushy showbiz parent? This is the true story behind Embarrassing Dad

We tried to send our daughter to a school so posh that…. None of the kids had kids

We tried to send our daughter to a school so posh that…. Instead of sawdust to soak up the puke, the janitor used quinoa

We tried to send our daughter to a school so posh that…. The teachers had butlers to abuse the kids

We tried to send our daughter to a school so posh that…. the teachers read out the register instead of signing one!

We tried to send our daughter to a school so posh that…. Kids took snuff behind the bike sheds.

The show includes advice from the world’s number one best selling book on parenting….that Roland got given to by his dad, it’s now very embarrassing, because it was written by someone who turned out to be rather infamous..with hilarious

This show is part of the Nottingham Comedy Festival.
