Ashley Frieze (MC)

With his charming, daft, and warm brand of music-infused stand-up comedy, this guitar-toting funny man has been entertaining audiences across the UK for over 20 years. His original songs, with well-crafted lyrics and catchy tunes, span many genres from Jazz to Coldplay.

Ashley has something for most audiences. Intelligent, geeky, silly, and occasionally naughty, he’s playful but never rude!

He regularly appears at comedy clubs all over the country as a headliner and is the resident MC of his own comedy night. His YouTube channel contains original songs, parodies and other strange goings on.

He’s a sharp, MC, and a powerhouse featured act appearing at theatres, comedy clubs, many many pub function rooms, festival stages, and even a moving bus! His solo Edinburgh Shows, The Seven Deadly Sings, and Discograffiti led to the release of his albums on all good streaming platforms (and many bad ones).
A musical theatre lover, Ashley’s appeared in local productions of The Producers, My Fair Lady, A Little Night Music and Guys and Dolls. He also co-wrote and starred in The Musical!, Edinburgh Fringe 2004.

As a writer, he’s edited and written books about performing at the Edinburgh Fringe, including How to Produce, Perform and Write an Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Show and the COVID-19 special edition – How to Write, Perform and Produce a Cancelled Edinburgh Fringe Show : Quick Guide: Complete guide on how to not write, perform and produce a show at the Edinburgh Fringe. He’s also worked as an editor on the Professor Howe novel series.

Andy White (Headliner)

Andy White is an energetic, confident and silly Brummie who combines silly voices and a mad afro to devastating comic effect. Andy has numerous media appearances, including the BBC New Comedy Awards on BBC Choice, Brand Spanking New on BBC Radio 7 and his winning performance on the Weakest Link comedian’s special! His appearance on the BBC quiz show featured in his five star (* * * * * Three Weeks) Edinburgh show, ‘It Started With A Quiz’ in 2007. This followed on from his well-received one man show at the 2005 Leicester Comedy Festival: Young, Gifted and Beige.

Andy escaped from a call centre to become a stand up comic who mixes silly voices and faces with observational humour, topical humour and his mixed race background. He can do material that’s clever, cheeky, sick or just silly and his performance can shift from deadpan to loud and physical. Andy has played to a wide variety of audiences, adults and children, both at home and abroad, in comedy clubs, theatres, universities, radio and TV shows, and at corporate entertainment events. He regularly headlines up and down the UK and has worked with all the major chains and comedy promoters along the way. Overseas, he’s performed in Monte Carlo (Laughing Horse), Berlin (Bleu Montag), Abu Dhabi and Dubai (Laughter House) amongst others.
