Stand Up Comedy Night

Stand Up Comedy Night

Details

Join us for a free night of live comedy, featuring some of the brightest and best comics in the country. Enjoy hours of laughter with these incredible acts : Rob Coleman (MC) Rob has been a semi -pro stand up for 15 years, MCing, closing, opening, and middling his way around the country with a mix of beautifully written gags and truish stories, together with some excellent audience banter. Along the way he has learned life lessons such as – ‘never take a first date to watch you perform comedy’ and ‘there are no 24 hour petrol stations in rural Wales.’ He has become increasingly grumpy and his comedy focuses on (amongst other things) politeness, getting old and the joys of long term relationships. Rob is the resident MC at Stamford Arts Centre and comes with several years oif experience on the comedy circuit. He has recently compered for Angela Barnes, Sara Pascoe and Simon Brodkin amongst others, so he really knows what he’s doing. He has also MC’d for several large weekend clubs, including The Comedy Lounge and ROFL Comedy Club Away from stand up, he has rowed across the Atlantic, becoming a world record holder in the process, and lives on a farm in rural Leicestershire. A masterclass of audience work …. a joy to behold.” Rock Central Promotions Henry Michael (Opener) Henry Michael joins us with stories from the NHS frontline. As an A&E doctor, he has seen some incredible sights and will regale you with stories of the frankly unbelievable state the general public can get in to. Never less than entertaining, and probably the only chance you’ll get to see a doctor this year! Runner-Up – KFPC Comedian of the Year ’21Finalist – Max Turner Prize ’20Runner-Up – Rudi Lickwood’s Five Minutes to Shine ’19 Eddy Midgley Eddy Midgley’s quarter life crisis hit him like a shovel. Now, he attempts to find humour in his most chaotic stories and scrapes. As a self diagnosed hypochondriac, who spends a bit too much time in the pub, Eddy has knack for going off on personal over-sharing tangents, that will be sure to get the room bouncing from laugh to laugh. “This cheerful and happy looking comic gave an engaging performance that everyone enjoyed. A fast moving set and he built up a lot of momentum. The makings of a formidable act and his energy fills the room.” NottsComedy Review“A cheeky, wonderfully engaging delivery mixed with excellent writing and quick thinking. A future star.” Top Notch Comedy Ian Whitcombe Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, Taskmaster and Britain’s Got Talent are just a few of the programmes Ian’ has never appeared on. The list is literally endless! After 20+ years living in Gotham, Ian is only 40 years away from being called a true Gothamite. Ian’s comedy career started a mere 9 months ago and he has gone on to do more than 50 gigs since. Groan-inducing puns, sparkling one-liners and stories about where doctors like to put their fingers mean that this act is a must-see.
